3 Online Home Business Ideas To Make Money With Affiliate Marketing Programs
affiliate marketing is maybe the most popular idea to make money on the internet. The reason for this is that it is also very easy way to start a home business online. However, there is not just one type of affiliate marketing programs. You can use affiliate marketing in several different ways. Here are three of them.

1. Pay per click is a way to make money from your website when visitors click on ads provided by the PPC Company you are promoting. The biggest PPC company on the internet is provided by Google, known as Google Adsense. However, there are many other affiliate programs offered by the PPC programs that are worth looking into as well.

The advantage of this type of affiliate program is you do not have to sell anything to make money. Although you will not earn as much money as if you would do by selling a product, you can make that up through sheer volume.

2. Cost per action programs are also known as pay per lead programs. There is a lot of potential to make significant amount of money in this type of opportunity.

With these types of programs you get paid when your visitor performs a specific function. It can be, for example, as easy as giving an email address and permission to receive promotional emails from affiliate program you are involved.

This is so effective way to get people make that action because they do not have purchase anything and it is free for them. There are people making six figure incomes per month doing this type of affiliate marketing.

3. Perhaps the most well-known affiliate programs are pay per sale programs. This type of opportunities pays you a commission every time you sell a product offered by affiliate merchant. Amazon.com is credited with becoming one of the first affiliate programs where you sell their products online.

Many online marketers quickly understand that selling information online is a great way to make a lot of money. People will pay for information if it solves a problem they have.

It is not that hard to build an ebook about something you are interested in and have good knowledge. Alternatively, if you do not want to create a product of your own, you can sell other peoples products and get paid a commission every time you make a sale. ClickBank is an excellent place to find products you want to start promoting. You can also join private label rights affiliate programs and have access to PLR products to sell for your online home business.

affiliate marketing is so popular because the merchant gives you everything you need to succeed. They give you products, websites, training, support, marketing materials, and much more.

When you are considering online home businesses these three types of affiliate marketing programs can make a lot of money. Learning how to properly implement them into your own home business will be the key to how successful you are doing it.

Affiliate Marketing: The Difference Between Publishers and Advertisers
There is some confusion about affiliate marketing and it is important to know that there are two sides to affiliate marketing. Typically the terminology revolves around "publishers" and "advertisers." While the ultimate goal of making money is the common theme among these titles, there are several differences that you must know about before diving into an affiliate marketing contract. Do your research and decide before you select an affiliate marketing company network, what kind of relationship you are going to have with the company. Most all affiliate marketing companies make big promises, so it is important to navigate carefully and weigh all of your options.

The advertiser relationship consists of some sort of initial investment and most likely a discussion with the affiliate marketing companies’ campaign specialists. Building relationships within the affiliate marketing company's network of other site owners or "publishers" who will advertise your product is an important element to remember. In return for this service, the "publisher" receives a commission that has been predetermined as well as a set commission rate given to the affiliate marketing company. The affiliate marketing company enabled you to build the relationship with the publisher and gave you access to their sales tools and tracking software so they are due a cut of the sale. As an advertiser, you are able setup the commission for the publisher and even offer performance incentives as a result of higher production.

7371One thing you must remember is that you are most likely not the only company selling your product type in the affiliate network. Be prepared to prove that your program is better than your competions, in order to gain the trust of publishers. If your site goes down often or your product is not converting, the publisher reserves the right to move on to another advertiser within the network. Publishers can be fickle so keeping them happy tends to be a challenge. If a publisher does not feel like things are working in their favor, they will easily turn thier back on you.

Affiliate companies may let nearly anyone into their networks, and that is okay. The important thing to watch, is how the publishers operate within the network. A publisher signs up and gets access to millions offers and it can be pretty easy to scam sites by creating false leads or sales with click fraud and false submissions. Affiliate companies are constantly monitoring their network and will blacklist anyone who is defrauding advertisers. Remember that it is impossible to keep the network 100% free of fraud so you should be careful and watch transactions carefully. Ideally you want to put an ad on your site that you think will convert because this is the only way you get paid. For example, if you are a realtor, it would make sense to have an affiliate ad on your site for a mortgage lending company.

affiliate marketing can be rewarding if you know what you are getting into and if you willing to keep up with it. The best practice for affiliate marketing is to have a combination of being both and advertiser and a publisher. Let affiliates sell your product or service and try making a little money as a publisher as well by placing an appropriate affiliate’s ad on your site.

Report On First Year of Internet Marketing

I've been trying half heartedly to make some money from affiliate marketing for the last year or so without much success. Over the last few weeks I've started to make some sales, perserverance pays off it would seem. The sales were made in the weight loss niche with what I've found to be a very professional and supportive affiliate program [MoreNiche]. It's time to have a look back over the year and how I've done.

The biggest problem I've had is in getting traffic if I could solve that I believe I could make a full-time income just from the products available with MoreNiche. In twelve months with Adsense I've made a sum total of $25 which doesn't even cover the time of setting the ads up, again if I could get more traffic I'm sure that would improve. I've spent a lot of time promoting Clickbank products without any success which is almost certainly because it's very unlikely I'd ever buy something from Clickbank myself. There's just something about the 'stock' landing pages that are generally used that I don't like. I wasted too much money being a paid up member of SFI who seem more about building downlines then actually selling their products.

I started with Plug-in Profit Site(PIPS) but have used it more for the resources and community. PIPS is like SFI in that it seems more about building a downline then promoting any products outside of the internet marketing niche. I think PIPS is the right idea with the wrong affiliate programs.

My attempts at article marketing have been pathetic, I still haven't even published the requiste ten articles with EzineArticles. Not that the articles I did spread far and wide did me a lot of good for traffic or my rankings in the search engines. But then the standard advice is to keep pumping them out which I found to be too time consuming however looking back at when I gave up I took the wrong approach. I never thought of my time spent writing articles etc as work it was an interuption to other things I wanted to be doing so my mind was always on something else.

I still haven't and do not intend on creating a 'list'. Even after more than a year I'm still going to ignore the advice that says 'build a list'. I still believe anything I can offer in an e-mail can be done better through a membership site. Although my attempt at making this site a free cooperative failed miserably I still believe in the concept . I'll re-enable the co-op if the traffic here ever gets to a decent level.

The good thing about the sales starting is it is very motivating already I'm planning new sites and over-hauling old ones. I will not be giving in anytime soon and plan on another go at article marketing in the next few weeks. I have an offline business that I'm concentrating on establishing before christmas and once that is running i can turn my attention back to internet marketing.

Top 5 Tips On How To Avoid Affiliate Marketing Disasters
Copyright (c) 2009 George Lazoryszak

Because affiliate marketing continues to have a high failure rate it should make you want to step back and analyze what successful people are doing. One way to do that is to consider things that do not work when it comes to affiliate marketing.

Here are my top five tips to help you avoid affiliate marketing disaster.

1. Choosing the wrong market to start an affiliate business in is a sure fire way to affiliate marketing failure. One thing we do know today is that it is easier to sell a product in a market where people are already spending money.

It is somewhat amazing that some of the top markets never have reach saturation. You see people starting new websites and begin making money almost immediately in certain niches such as weight loss or diet, sports such as golf, work at home, health, and many others.

You can stand a much better chance to succeed if you choose affiliate programs to represent in these types of niches.

2. Not focusing on a specific product initially can create a disaster for you as well. There are many affiliate websites that have so many products on them that they never make a sale.

Initially you are better off to focus on one product and create a profit from it before adding more products.

3. Be sure and get one website up and running profitably before adding another. This is a common mistake affiliate marketers make where they jump around from one to another and never ever make money in any of them.

4. Using the website provided for you by the affiliate merchant is a big mistake too. There are many different reasons for this, but the main one is you are not going to differentiate yourself from your competition when you use the same website everyone else has.

5. Not using landing pages and sign-up forms is another common mistake you see affiliate marketers make. The most successful affiliate marketers do understand the importance of building a list for future follow up regardless of the niche that they are in.

An email marketing list is an asset you can continue to tap into for many years to come. Therefore you want to build as large of a list as possible, and get to know your subscribers before you expect them to purchase from you.

If you see a failing affiliate marketer there is a pretty good chance they are not doing these five things. If you want to avoid affiliate marketing disaster follow these five tips and watch your affiliate business grow.

Summary: Because affiliate marketing continues to have a high failure rate it should make you want to step back and analyze what successful people are doing. Here are my top five tips to help you avoid affiliate marketing disaster.

Online video marketing: Getting Video Article Page Views Cheat The System Details Here!
Online video marketing is a exploding online marketing resources but do not try to cheat the system! Cheating will only lead to you getting banded from the online video sites such as Youtube, Metacafe, Myspace, Dailymotion, Revver, Crackle, Veoh, and Yahoo video. Then all your efforts converting your articles to video will just be a waste of time. Ok your probably thinking what is the right way to increase your video page views? We are going to discuss just that in our article today.

When you start to optimize your metadata tags for your video article do not ad keywords, or keyword phrases that are not used in your article video. Also do not use keywords or keyword phrases in your description metadata tags that are not used in your video. This will get you in trouble too. And lastly do not use words in your video metadata tags that are not relevant to your video article. Folks if you think about it, this is just common sense. I know when I do a search on say google and when the screen populates with results I do not want to click on a site and find that is not relevant to what I was searching for. It is no different when you search for relevant videos articles. I expect to see videos related to what I was searching for. All cheating does is reduce your online credibility and get you banned online. Then what are you going to do?

Another common method people try to cheat the online video sites and social media sites is by falsely inflating the video views part of the Youtube algorithm equation by using automated programs that falsely inflate the number of views a specific video has received. If you take a look at Youtubes terms of service it states "Use of any automated system that sends more request messages to Youtube servers in a given time period of time then a human can reasonably produce in the same time period , is forbidden." Folks trying to cheat the video sharing sites and the video search engine sites by inflating the page viewing numbers will flat out get you banded! And for good reason. It is morally wrong and flat out intent to cheat the system. We as online video marketers and social media marketers do not need these kind of people in our industry.

Now here are a few tips to get your video page views the right way.

1.0

Use keywords, and keyword phrase that are included in your video article in your metadata tags such as "title", "description", and "video tag".

2.0

Optimize your thumbnail. The thumbnail images are the first thing that attracts a searchers eye. Have you ever heard the saying, "a picture is worth a thousand words" ? Well in this case your video thumbnail could be worth a thousand page views.

Do not focus on long term promotions of your online video article. Getting video page views quickly will benefit your website traffic far more then any long term promotions. For Example just take a look inside Youtube at links like "rising videos", "top favorites", and "top rated" and take a look at how many video page views the videos that are listed here have. These are the lists you want your video articles to be listed on.

Well folks that concludes my article on cheating the video sites. I hope this information is useful. Have a nice day and the best of luck with your online video marketing efforts!

Website Optimisation Tips for Article Marketing Success
Article marketing has long been viewed as one of the best strategies for online business. This initiative can help to build reputation, as well as providing hyper-links to your site for the article readers, who may well represent partially qualified leads. The Internet thrives on the presentation of quality information and well written articles can be your organisation's key contribution. The major search engines value good articles highly, and it's essential that you compose focused and optimised material for your project.

Once you have compiled your comprehensive list of appropriate keywords for your niche, you should prepare articles accordingly. Write very informative pieces which include your keywords and make sure that they are distributed to relevant and powerful article directories and other repositories around the web. Anchor text-based hyper-links within the article resource boxes should point back to the landing pages, as specified, on your website.

You should remember that you need to focus on your website development, as well as your article composition and distribution, as this is equally important within the overall picture. Your website must be adequately optimised to enable you to get the most out of any article marketing campaign, and to ensure this you should concentrate on several areas:

1. Understand that the primary reason why people visit your page is to seek information. You should not spend too much time on fancy presentation, complex graphics and flash animation, if it detracts from the overall message.

2. The layout of your site must be easy to understand and navigate. Visitors must be able to progress from point to point or page to page without any confusion and there should be a logical progression when it comes to presentation of information.

3. Ideally, you should present a separate page for each keyword that you focus on during your article marketing campaign. In this way, the search engines will match the keyword contained in your article's anchor link with the keyword optimised on each page.

4. Ensure that the content of the page is directly related to the content of the article. Keep in mind that the reader of the article is being encouraged to check out this site through the actual content of the article itself. He or she should be able to continue this process of discovery, which may be leading them further into your sales funnel!

5. To make sure that the search engines recognize the landing page you have specified as relevant, you should make sure that you:

* Put the exact keywords in the title of your page, as well as in the description.

* Repeat the keywords in the body of the content on the page. It is suggested that you do this to no more than a density of 1%, ie 5 times within 500 words of content, so that it appears natural.

* The H1 tag is very important and the keywords should appear here too.

* Specify the keyword and related keywords (sometimes known as secondary keywords) within your meta-data keywords tag.

6. There is increasing evidence that Google is placing a lot of emphasis on synonism and latent semantic indexing. This means that they will be looking for the existence of certain words and phrases within your content, relating back to their large databases of information, so they can accurately judge whether your content is indeed relevant to your primary keywords.

As you roll out your article marketing campaign, there's a lot to concentrate on. Make the most of each article that you compose and distribute by ensuring that every element of your campaign is optimised. To ensure that you don't miss any of these essential steps, give some thought to taking on a Virtual Assistant to make the most of your online business development.

Why Search Engine Optimization is a Big Waste of Money
It probably seems rather odd to launch a new blog on Search Engine Optimization and have the first post be written about it being a waste of money. I should probably support this opinion by throwing out a bunch of impressive numbers with lots of comma's that I dug up during my hours of research, but to be completely transparent, I really didn't do hours of research to write this. I could also talk about the amount of money spent on Search Engine Optimization each year and of course show its effectiveness with a really cool 3D chart, but charts and graphs generally irk me.

I have chosen instead to write from my own experience as the owner of an SEO company as well as a client...as a student of some of the most well known SEO guru's in the industry as well as a teacher. Many of you are going to agree with what I have to say throughout the course of this and many of you won't...and both of you are welcome and encouraged to leave your comments!

So, what exactly makes SEO a waste of money? Well, if your primary goal is to get a top 10 listing on Google, you can accomplish that fairly easily with little or no effort. You don't need to pay an expert to do it. All you need to do is find a keyword phrase that doesn't have that much competition, write an article or two using it, make sure it's in the title of your page and create a handful of external links using that phrase. Tada! So how come the phone still isn't ringing?

It is because there are so many other important aspects to Search Engine Optimization that go beyond keyword research and placement but are often overlooked. In most cases, it is because your goals are off. Most companies focus on a top 10 listing or doubling traffic, neither of which is a guarantee that business is going to improve. At the end of the day, what do you want the outcome of your campaign to be? I would think that it is to grow your business, correct?

If that is your goal, then it is clear that there is more to Search Engine Optimization than just your ranking and traffic. You need to consider all of the following:

Ideal Client: If you aren't clear on who your ideal client is, then how will you know what they want? Suppose you run a salon and your target audience is "anyone with hair." How will you be able to connect with your visitor when a young woman has completely different needs than an older man? Yet, they all have hair.

Design: You can drive tens of thousands of visitors to your website, but if the site doesn't have the look, feel and quality that the visitor is expecting, they will not do business with you. Try launching a bank website with really bright colors and pictures of bank vaults, gold coins and stacks of cash everywhere and let me know how it goes.

Keywords: When you are clear on who your ideal client is, put yourself in their shoes and learn what they are searching for and how they search for it. Someone looking for a plumber to redo their bathroom is going to search in a completely different frame of mind than someone who came home to 2 feet of water in their basement.

Content: Writing quality content that will appease the search engines at the same time that it inspires the reader is the key. If you cram your keyword phrase in the text enough times, you may get a good ranking but when your visitor reads your text you may come across as illiterate.

Solutions: Provide solutions for your visitors rather than patting yourself on the back all over your site. When someone does a search online they are either looking for the solution to a problem or the answer to a question. if you site is focused primarily on you and what you have done and what your credentials are, you aren't solving the visitors problem and they will leave the site and find someone that will. Think about it. If you throw your back out and go to the chiropractor, do you want him to ramble on about where he went to school or do you want him to fix the problem?

These are just some of the things we will talk about on this blog. As a reader, my request to you is that if you have an opinion, share it. This blog will work well with me talking to you, but it will work so much better if we all talk to each other!

How to Increase Your Online Business Profits through Affiliate Marketing
affiliate marketing can be an extremely valuable facet of your online business endeavour. When all is said and done, you don't have to hire any employees, invest in advertising or engaging in strategic marketing programs. If you inspire some highly motivated individuals or organisations to advertise and sell your products and services on your behalf, why not go for it, as your only obligation is to allocate a portion of the revenues to pay them for the sales which they actually process.

It's very important to spend advertising money correctly, especially in times of economic recession. Traditionally, it's been very difficult to analyze the effects of a marketing spend and difficult to justify as well, therefore we must always act only after careful consideration.

By lining up a number of affiliates, you can leverage a significant amount of power. Performance-based marketing of this kind is extremely attractive, as you only have to pay out when a sale is actually completed. The affiliate assumes the responsibility of paying for advertising and marketing to initiate the interest, and this "cost per action" approach is becoming increasingly relevant today.

Any organisations that have some type of intangible product or an intangible service to offer should seek out an affiliate network. These networks have already attracted interested affiliates who are looking for product or service providers to partner up with. The affiliate network company will likely need some persuading that your organisation is a good fit, and this may require some negotiation, but it is worth the setup process as you will effectively have an army of external sales consultants, ready to be paid based entirely on their performance.

Within the World market there are an incredible number and variety of affiliate networks. Some only handle certain types of business, and you need to do some research to make sure that yours is a good fit. It's in the network's interest to make sure that everyone wins, as their income is based on a cut of the commissions paid.

Remember that the affiliate assumes the risk of marketing to the consumer through their chosen channels, and you should make sure that you adequately incentivise them. Have realistic commissions in mind, be aware of who is signing up for your program and ensure that they always follow the rules and parameters you have established at the beginning. Just be aware that the affiliates represent your organisation in many respects, so be sure that they do not act or promote in a counterproductive fashion.

Try and attract affiliates with a good reach, through comprehensive e-mail lists, well-recognised blogs or highly trafficked websites. Create a good relationship with these key sellers and your business could grow in leaps and bounds.

If you find some affiliates to be particularly productive, set aside something additional to use to further incentivise them. Your goal must always be to fertilise any relationships that you start to build with key affiliates, to build an even more fruitful arrangement.

During your website development, don't forget to include graphics advertising your affiliate program and links to the sign-up page hosted by your affiliate network. Remember that you have to keep an eye on your affiliate program once it's up and running, and if you want to be spending your time relaxing on a tropical island somewhere, this would be an ideal task for your virtual assistant.
